Case Study - Emerald Hills Golf Course - A case study in water re-use

My neighborhood is a twelve home complex that is placed right next to the Emerald Hills Golf Course in Redwood City.  When it rains or when the sprinklers go on, the water flows to a creek behind one of the homes closest to the golf course, by naturally flowing down a hill and landing in the creek.   Then the water in the creek then flows into a small pond in the golf course.  The golf course then uses the pond water to water the golf course.

The golf course also uses other water resources.  The golf course could save this water till the summer for when it is very hot and dry.  They could store it under the ground in holding tanks where they can keep the water till the summer.
